happy anniversary

Recently, my parents celebrated their wedding anniversary. I made them an anniversary card using the bird punch (my ultimate "go to")...clean and simple.

Lots of embossing...and I love the all white look. What do you think?

"scraplifted" elegant bird

Anyone who knows me knows of my obsession of birds...and now that Stampin' Up! has a new "Elegant Bird" Bigz Die in the Occasions Mini, the bird obsession could get a little obnoxious! It's AWESOME! I also loved the card idea in the mini for the bird die, so I "scraplifted" it and put my own spin on it. It's probably my favorite card of all time (not just for obvious reasons).

By the way, take notice that my pictures have improved please! I have a digital SLR camera, but dealing with lenses and such can be a pain to drag out sometimes. My little point-and-shoot camera crapped out on me so I had been using my Blackberry (though I do have an iPhone now, which takes better pictures) to take my recent blog photos. I used some of my Christmas money from my in-laws to purchase a new one. I now keep it in my craft room so I have no excuses not to take better pictures! A little ironic since I always have a camera with me anywhere I go (I took over 3000 pictures in Budapest!). My sister-in-law, Tara, made me promise to never post another bad picture! Is this better, Tara?

last of the birdies

Unfortunately, my birdies are gone.

They were born just after Easter and left the nest on Mother's Day.
I had so much fun watching them grow and taking pictures
(um, about 500 pictures by the way)...

Here are a few of the last shots I got of them:

And then, there was one...

I just wanted to share the last of the birdies...

I'll miss them.

some amazing shots

I just got home and, of course, had to check on my babies.

I have been waiting all week to get some "feeding" shots like these!

Nature is amazing.

The one below is my favorite!

Off to go stamp!

bigger baby birdies

I know some of you may be sick of seeing these little birdie posts...
but, according to google, they'll only be in the nest 2-3 weeks from birth.

So, I had to take the opportunity document their lives!

Here are some pictures from Saturday...

Here are today's pictures... they are turning into real birds
and don't look as much like dinosaurs!

They'll be gone soon... I'll be sad to see "my babies" go.

and then there were 4

Well, all 4 of the babies have hatched!!!

Check out mamma!

And here are all 4 of the babies...

The picture below just melts my heart!

I'm headed to my stamp room... so I'll post some goodies shortly!

Until then...

1, 2, 3 little birdies

Sorry, this isn't a crafting post!

Yesterday I posted about the bird nest on our bedroom window sill.

I finally got the mamma robin to pose for a picture!

There were four eggs yesterday and then one hatched.
Robert checked on them this morning and two more had hatched!
We're still waiting for one more!

I know, I'm obsessed!

These little birds are consuming me...

But they're so cute!!!

our new neighbors

We discovered a bird's nest outside of our bedroom window!

(and making a mess out of our window sill!)

I took pictures of the nest and made an MDS scrapbook page!

How could you not love My Digital Studio?!

Now is a great time to order it.  You can get the downloads from the
fabulous "Occasions Mini" and be able to enjoy all of its splendor long
after it's gone!  (It's ending April 30th)

Please visit my Stampin' Up! store to order MDS!

BIRDIE UPDATE!!! (8:34 pm)

About an hour after I made the MDS scrapbook page, an egg hatched!!!

Sorry for the quality of the pictures...

It was difficult to take them through the window screen
and it's getting dark outside.
(I didn't want to use the flash for obvious reasons!)

It's fascinating to watch the whole process...
