create a cupcake birthday cards

My mother-in-law requested birthday cards... all made with cupcakes!

The "Create a Cupcake" stamp set and "Cupcake Punch" from the Ocassions mini were perfect for these!

It was a very crafty weekend in between going to grill outs and the "Taste of Cincinnati" with friends. I'm pooped... but I have lots of things to share!

Hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable Memorial Day weekend!

fabulous florets floating butterfly

I just love the Fabulous Florets stamp set from the Summer Mini!

Sorry for the photography!  I had to take these shots by lamplight
during the tornadoes the other night!!!

I suspended the butterfly in the circle hole.  I couldn't find the
role of fishing line I had so I had to use stretchy string that I use
for my jewelry making.  The fishing line would have been better!

Supplies:

Ink: Pacific Point
Cardstock: Pacific Point, Whisper White
DSP:  Beyond the Garden (Summer Mini)
Stamps: Fabulous Florets (Summer Mini)
Punches: Modern Label, Word Window, 2 1/2" Round
Bigz Die: Beautiful Butterflies
Misc: Dimensionals, Stretchy String (or fishing line)

owl punch onesie baby card

My mom came up with this idea to turn the owl punch
into a onesie!  It's super-easy... just punch out the owl
and trim it down to look like the base of the onesie...
then add sleeves and decorate!

Supplies:

Ink: Old Olive
Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock: Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, Early Espresso, Whisper White
DSP: Nursery Suite Specialty
Ribbon: Linen Thread, Pretty in Pink 5/8" Satin
Embossing Folder: Square Lattice
Bigz Die: Scallop Squares Duo (Summer Mini)
Punch: Jewelry Tag Medium
Misc: Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive

wild animal kingdom

I was playing in my craft room,
which is located on our first floor in the front of our house.
I happened to glance out the window, and this is what I found...

She got up and took a walk down the driveway... so I went out and followed her!

She had no problem with posing for me!
I walked right up to her!

I'm starting to feel like we live in the middle of wild animal kingdom!

The strangest part is that we live right in the middle of the city!
Our house is situated in behind other houses and our acre property is
completely surrounded by trees.  We bought this house because we felt
like we were in the middle of nowhere, yet all the restaurants and
shopping you could imagine is less than a mile away!

However, you would never know with all the wildlife around us!

I put the camera away... back to crafting!

last of the birdies

Unfortunately, my birdies are gone.

They were born just after Easter and left the nest on Mother's Day.
I had so much fun watching them grow and taking pictures
(um, about 500 pictures by the way)...

Here are a few of the last shots I got of them:

And then, there was one...

I just wanted to share the last of the birdies...

I'll miss them.

i'm back with... "under the stars"

I'M BAAAAAAAAACK!!!

Did you miss me?

I'm so sorry I've been M.I.A... things are always
soooo crazy at the end of the school year.

I'm so sorry!

Here is a card I made for my sister-in-law, Tara, for her birthday.

I recently "discovered" the Under the Stars set in the IBC and HAD to have it!

What do you think?

always tin

My students all love the stuff that I make and often put in "orders".

One of my Chinese students asked me if I would make
2 tins for him to give out for Mother's Day.
(I can never seem to say no to them).

He specifically asked for "red" with a "heart on top"...

Supplies:
Stamps: Always
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Paper: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Retired SU! DSP

some amazing shots

I just got home and, of course, had to check on my babies.

I have been waiting all week to get some "feeding" shots like these!

Nature is amazing.

The one below is my favorite!

Off to go stamp!

bigger baby birdies

I know some of you may be sick of seeing these little birdie posts...
but, according to google, they'll only be in the nest 2-3 weeks from birth.

So, I had to take the opportunity document their lives!

Here are some pictures from Saturday...

Here are today's pictures... they are turning into real birds
and don't look as much like dinosaurs!

They'll be gone soon... I'll be sad to see "my babies" go.
